An Unforgettable New Mexico Wedding
Lauren & Matt’s stunning Los Poblanos wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico was truly made of dreams. Lauren and Matt started their wedding day with an intimate ceremony at San Isidro de Capilla at Hotel Albuquerque, followed by a romantic cocktail hour in a secluded garden at Los Poblanos, ending the evening with an incredible dinner under the La Quinta Grand Portal. Every moment of this day was unforgettable.
Even today, nearly two years later, I still remember what it felt like to walk on the historic grounds of Los Poblanos, how chilly the October air got as soon as the sun set behind the Sandia Mountains, and the joyous feeling I had when Harvest Moon played over the speakers as Lauren and Matt took their first dance together as husband and wife, spinning around the dance floor with their loved ones crying and cheering them on in the periphery. I know I will never, ever, forget this wedding day.
Not only was this fall wedding truly magical, but it also ended up being my very last large wedding before the pandemic hit. None of us would have known what the next two years would bring and how the pandemic would change everyone’s lives. None of us knew that this would be one of the last times we could be gathered in a big room together, singing together, dancing together, and laughing together, all without a fear of horrible sickness in sight. Looking back, I long to make myself remember this wedding day even more, if only for the simple fact that I won’t know the next time I’ll be able to be a part of a wedding day and feel that carefree again. It’s such a bittersweet feeling.
