I’m Ashley Joyce. I’m so glad you’re here.
I create artistic and meaningful tangible memories for my clients in the form of film and digital photographs. I believe that art and beauty are all around us – in the mundane, the repetitive, the quiet, the unnoticed. Beauty and love are absolutely everywhere and I want to capture as much of it as I can, especially for discerning couples like yourself.
I went to school for art and photography and through my studies, I learned to pay attention to my surroundings with a quiet, contemplative eye. I saw angles, shadows, peaks of light, poetic forms that made my heart ache with beauty – things that maybe the average eye might have missed. That’s how I will approach your wedding, elopement, or couples session – with a creative, contemplative perspective and a heartfelt expression to tell your story as beautifully as possible.

my creative process
To be an intuitive and emotive photographer, I believe you first have to be a good observer; to witness the world around you with a clear yet creative eye. As someone who grew up shy and quiet, my observation skills have been sharpened immensely over the years. Elliot Erwitt, a famous French-American photographer, once said, “To me, photography is the art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them,” and I couldn’t agree more.
Nature and architecture are some of my favorite things to observe, allowing me to photograph my couples seamlessly in whatever scenic location of their choosing, highlighting the beauty of the trees around them or the unique historic architecture in a city like New York. Bring me to any location of your dreams and I will ensure we photograph it in all its majesty and beauty and capture your love story as truthfully as possible.
When I meet someone new, I want to first understand them, build mutual trust, and learn as much about them as I can. In my creative life, this allows me to connect with my couples on a deeper level, understanding who they are, how they show their love, and how best I can photograph them. Every connection I make with my couples is another opportunity to build a deeper connection and a thriving community.
