What would you imagine if you thought of a Denver Art Museum wedding? One that promises an extraordinary blend of romance, sophistication, architectural brilliance, and artistic intimacy? Well, that’s what Rachael and Joe’s Denver wedding encapsulated and it was beautiful beyond measure.
According to their website, The Denver Art Museum was “Founded in 1893 as the Denver Artists’ Club,” and “today is one of the largest art museums between Chicago and the West Coast.” With its stunningly brilliant architecture and global art collections, the museum is one incredible Colorado wedding venue, bound to provide an unforgettable wedding backdrop.
Rachael and Joseph’s Denver Art Museum wedding was woven together through romantic and thoughtful details, with coordination efforts provided by Cloud9 Weddings, elegant florals by Newberry Brothers Flowers, luxurious rentals by Colorado Party Rentals, and a simple yet elevated wedding cake by Cak the Bakery, all photographed by Yours Truly. From the romantic floral arrangements to Rachael’s lavish puff sleeve wedding gown by Anna Bé Bridal, every aspect was meticulously designed to enhance the museum’s inherent allure, all while creating an intimate atmosphere for Rachael and Joseph’s elegant affair.
Rachael and Joseph are two warm, lovely, and kind human beings whose love story is one for the books. Below you’ll find some background information on the two, along with advice for couples currently planning their wedding:
What did you both think when you saw each other for the first time?
Joe: She’s so pretty and probably out of my league.
Rachael: I remember thinking that he was tall and cute. I can’t put my finger on it but I remember he seemed warm hearted and very different from the typical D.C. guy. He talked about empathy on our first date!
What is your proposal story?
I bought the ring back in October and cleverly hid it in a box at the bottom of my closet, certain she would never find it. In January, after securing her parents’ blessing, I set my plan in motion to propose before our big move to Colorado in March. With the pandemic limiting options, I chose a stunning vineyard in Northern Virginia, planning the proposal for Valentine’s Day, which fell on a Sunday that year.
On the morning of the big day, I asked her to move the car so I could discreetly retrieve the ring. At the vineyard, when Rach tried to order a glass of wine, I stopped her and insisted on a bottle of sparkling rosé. As we raised our glasses, I seized the moment and proposed. Despite the cold and dreary winter day, we felt nothing but warmth and joy! Rach was completely surprised.
What inspired you to design your wedding day the way you did?
Being both creative souls, we knew the Denver Art Museum would be the perfect venue for our celebration. We wanted it to be more than just an event; we envisioned an unforgettable celebration where our friends and family could have a blast. Every detail was planned with fun in mind. We also ensured that our guests would have the chance to explore a few captivating exhibits, making the experience even more enriching and memorable.
Any advice or tidbits you can provide?
Try not to get too caught up in all the details! Enjoy yourself and each other.
