a tandem bike. a happy couple. an Albuquerque morning. a perfect day for a sunrise engagement shoot in New Mexico.
I met Marta and Tom in Nob Hill at 6 am for their sunrise engagement shoot. Whenever I suggest the possibility of a sunrise shoot to a client, I’m always worried they’re going to think I’m a bit crazy. I mean, getting up before the sun rises to get ready for a shoot can feel daunting. However, there are few things that can beat waking up before the city awakes and listening the quietness of the early morning hours. It’s magical, no matter if you’re on a mountain top, in a suburban town, or in the middle of a city. I always love getting the day started early and listening to the world awake from its sleep (okay, maybe I don’t *
always* love it. I do really love my sleep). The golden light as it shines delicately on surrounding buildings, the flowers as they open up their sleeping pedals, the birds as they sing their morning tunes…it’s all magical. In every way.
To add to that magic, Marta and Tom brought a tandem bike to ride for their engagement shoot. Talk about a fun morning! These two giggled their way passed me as I photographed them in the morning light, weaving back and forth in the Nob Hill neighborhood of Albuquerque, NM. It was charming, it was fun, and I will wake up at the crack of dawn for fun clients any day of the week.
