When I first met Ellie & Garrett, we spent three long hours together. We chatted about our cats (they have three and if you’ve been following me along on Instagram, you know I have two), good food, the living conditions in Colorado (I had just moved to Denver from Albuquerque and they just moved here from Dallas), and our combined love for ice cream. After our dinner and cocktails at Q House, we walked to Sweet Cooie’s and made the mistake of ordering *three* large banana splits but happily devoured our delicious mistakes under the Colorado sunset. Needless to say, it was the perfect evening.
Skip to their Lost Gulch & Chautauqua Park engagement session. It was an October morning and we drove together from Denver to Boulder for their session, stopping along the way for bagels and coffee (I mean, can it get any better than that?). While the view from Lost Gulch was spectacular, it was also pretty damn cold. And when I say cold, I mean *frigid*. To my surprise, Ellie and Garrett stuck it out with strength and forced laughter (or, wait, maybe we were actually having fun?) and when the sun finally rose above the morning clouds to warm our frozen bones up, everything fell into place and felt so, so much better. I mean, scroll down to look at those smiles. I can’t get enough of it.
These two are getting married on the most popular wedding date of the year: 10.10.2020. Before their dreamy autumn wedding comes ’round, be on the lookout for round two of engagement photos in Denver. You can bet we’ll be *much* warmer come their summertime session….hopefully.
