For those of you who know the Boulder area pretty well, I’m guessing you’ve been to Chautauqua Park at least once. A gorgeous national historic landmark that hosts beautiful gardens, picnic areas, rental cabins, and hiking trails, Chautauqua Park was the perfect location for Leah and Robert’s Boulder engagement shoot. Fun fact that I recently discovered: “Chautauqua” was an adult educational movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, bringing entertainment and culture to the whole community and Boulder’s Chautauqua Park still hosts learning and cultural events year-round! Although Leah and Robert were married in May of 2017 in Pecos, New Mexico (you can check out their amazing wedding here), for their engagement shoot that was included in their wedding collection, they chose to have me photograph them in their new home of Boulder, Colorado the following autumn. Leah and Robert are incredible people who complement each other wonderfully. Leah is a little bit of a firecracker with grace that she extends to everyone around her, while Robert is quite the reserved and quiet gentleman who gets a little silly when Leah ruffles his heart and makes him giggle. They are a joy to be around and even now while looking at these photos, my heart is happy, warm, and I’m brought back to this terribly (but perfectly) windy afternoon and thrilled to be sharing these with everyone. When I look at these photos, I can clearly see two people in love. Their smiles, their laughter that I can almost hear, and the way they hold one another is sincere and genuine. This. This is what gets my heart racing. This is why my heart feels warm inside every time I look at these photos. This is why I love what I do.
